Rice paper divider screens are often moved around and handled a fair amount, and as a result can sometimes tear or get damaged in some way. If this happens to a rice paper screen it will need to be repaired, fortunately this is a relatively easy process.
Repairing The Screen
- To effectively repair a tear in a paper screen, you will need to clean the area around the hole. Do this by using a soft brush to sweep away any dirt on both sides of the paper.
- Measure the length of the tear and cut out two new pieces of rice paper that will overlap this area.
- Brush glue lightly over the tear and place one of the new pieces of paper over the hole, making sure to smooth out any air bubbles or creases in the process.
- Allow to dry and repeat the process using the other piece of rice paper.
